UMAIN Inc.’s UWB Radar sensor products are based on the HST-C1R chip, which is basically its own SoC. By default, people can be detected within 13 meters, vehicles can be detected up to 22 meters, and the data is sampled at intervals of 1.5 centimeters to deliver 11 meters of data (about 660 signal strength) at up to 45 times per second.
Currently, our sensor products are designed to send data about 10 to 20 times per second. In addition, it can detect the movement of up to 2 ~ 3mm according to the characteristic of a radio wave, and it can apply various applications according to the algorithm performance of the developer.

UMAIN has its own UWB Radar SoC. Based on this, we have developed radar sensor module for mass production, which, contains all the technologies including antennas and radar signal processing algorithms. Currently, we are selling HST-C1R chip, as well.

UWB stands for Ultra Wide Band, and UMAIN Inc.’s radar chip conforms to UWB International Standard, ensuring quick certification after product creation.

The HST-C1R, a mass-production chipset developed by UMAIN Inc., can be used in the frequency range of 3 to 4.5 GHz, and the mass-production module is developed with center frequency up to 4 GHz, which brings the best performance.

UMAIN Inc.’s UWB Radar sensor products are pure radar products developed for close-range sensing from 10 to 22 meters. It provides excellent detection capability even when dark, bright, cloudy, smoky or dusty and can be applied to various security functions while protecting the privacy of the individual by using the anonymous data of the radar sensor.
In addition, excellent permeability can be used to detect leaks in the ground, measure the amount of rebar in buildings and broadly apply to a variety of applications, such as distinguishing among adults, children, people, and animals.

Commonly known radars are called Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave (FMCW) which is a type of CW Radar and UWB Radar is also commonly called Impulse Radar or Bio Radar. It is common for FMCW radars to use a single frequency, UWB radars typically use bandwidths above 500 MHz, and UMAIN Inc. radars use bandwidths up to 1 GHz.

We are currently selling HST-1CR chip for mass production. For more details, please contact us at sales@umain.co.kr or our website (www.umain.co.kr).

UMAIN Inc. reserves the right to patent and source technology for mass production chips for HST-C1R.

Yes. We provide technical support for the production of sensor modules and antennas to customers who purchase chips over a certain size by agreement. In addition, for some functions, we provide the firmware with the radar signal processing algorithm applied to the product as a binary file.

Yes. Some functions such as intrusion detection, distance detection, obstacle detection, and breath detection can be applied directly to the product. If you want additional functions, we help on the issue of applicability depending on the quantity and condition of the product purchased.

For chips, it takes 8 to 12 weeks. For module products, it takes 12 to 16 weeks. In addition, the payment term is basically FOB.

UMAIN Inc.’s UWB radar sensors use ToF (Time of Flight) to calculate the distance by measuring the time the radio waves hit the obstacle and reflected. In addition, by using ultra wide band (UWB) pulse, the amount of energy is different depending on the area and material of the object, and it also gives high permeability due to characteristics of radio waves.
Typical applications include intrusion detection, occupancy detection, distance detection, anti-collision, sinkhole detection, and breath detection.
For example, it can detect an object outside a window even when the window is closed. It can also distinguish between a person and a pet by tracking the size and movement of an object and can detect a person’s breathing or heartbeat.
Recently, it has been studied in various fields to scan inside the human body, to detect the shape of the object in the bag, and to apply it to the advanced field to detect movement beyond the wall.

Yes. The number of people can be, with high accuracy, measured depending on how the radar processing algorithms are developed. It can also figure out the density distribution of people.

It may vary depending on the material of the door. If it is not metallic, close-distance human beings are detectable. In the case of metallic contact, it may be difficult to judge because the reflection of a radio wave is severe.

Yes. The physical resolution is 1.5 centimeters, but due to the nature of the reflection of the radio, the accurate detection of a few millimeters can be used to determine the breakage or the bending of the road.

That’s right. The radar is basically capable of recognizing multiple targets with high transmittance, diffraction and radiation properties. The number of targets that can be recognized depends on the performance of the algorithm.

Yes. Our sensor is only 10 to 22 meters in range. However, it has the advantage of a radar sensor, low cost, and excellent algorithm and can be applied to areas that are difficult to detect with ultrasonic sensors or blind zone detection sensors of auto-driving vehicles ultrasonic sensors. Moreover, the sensor can detect human beings when installed in a car, as well as the posture of the driver, without using a camera. This, of course, requires development and application of radar signal processing software algorithms unique to each function.

UMAIN Inc.’s UWB Radar sensor can be developed and supplied with an inexpensive sensor using its own SoC. Due to the characteristic of a radar sensor, it can be applied to various products, depending on software algorithm development. It is a future sensor that can detect from intrusion detection to non-contact bio-signal detection.

UMAIN Inc.’s products are largely divided into chip and module products (including antennas). The price of each product varies depending on the quantity and terms of the contract. Please contact sales@umain.co.kr or visit our website (www.umain.co.kr).
